PROBLEM SOLVING WORKSHOP
Level I Problem Solving workshop will be recorded and available 11/18/18 for candidate access outside the NYC area.
Nathan Ronen, CFA pioneered the Problem Solving Workshop in 2008. He witnessed many CFA candidates struggling with the Level I program on two fronts: 1) mastering the plethora of concepts and formulae in the curriculum; and 2) integrating the concepts across the different topic areas to answer multiple-choice questions. Nathan’s objective was to create a one-day CFA workshop to help candidates apply the concepts learned in the curriculum to complete the multiple-choice questions in a timely and efficient manner. Using the Ronen Methodology candidates will learn to isolate the best answer from the other potentially good but incorrect choices. Many times this is the key to success on the exam. Teaching candidates how to address multiple-choice questions on a holistic manner through analysis and connecting the concepts, rather than regurgitating formulae, along with learning time management skills helps increase candidate success on exam day. In 2018, one live session is being offered.
- During this one-day intensive workshop candidates will be given in exam format, 240 unique CFA type multiple-choice questions (120 in the morning session and 120 in the afternoon session) covering topics in the CFA Level I program (i.e., Ethics, Financial Reporting & Analysis, Economics, Quantitative Methods, Portfolio Management, Equity, Derivatives, Fixed Income, Alternative Investments and Corporate Finance)
- Unlike mock or practice exams, workshop questions will be timed and answered by topic sections, reviewed and answers explained so that candidates understand why the correct answer is correct and why the other choices are incorrect.
- Candidates will receive a formal answer key with explanations and associated LOSs at the end of the workshop.
